Hey all! So, the storms are rolling. All across the country, winter is finally hitting, or almost here for some of you. There is a huge amount of weather coming, or so we’ve been told. The rain just started yesterday for me, conveniently right before I started a solo road training ride. I have a race this weekend, and it was my easy day, so I was only going medium for an hour and half. The first hour was alright, cold and wet. The last half hour was brutal, though. Frozen numb, past the point of caring about getting wet because I was soaked. But I still got it done, and that is what I talked about in my last blog. I have been trying to live up to that standard I set for myself a few months ago, and I have been training hard. I just got home from the gym, and Sunday is my first race of the season. The TBF MTB Kickstart. Granted, it is a training race, and I will still be in hardcore training mode for many months to come, yet I am still nervous and excited. This will be the first time I have raced against many of my friends and competitors in many months, some of them haven’t even raced against me on the lightning fast Toa yet. It’s gonna have a super fast build on it this weekend, fully rigid with my race wheels. Later in the season I’ll be adding a 2×10 XO race groupo, and the World Cup SID by Rockshox. All in all, I’m going to be running a wicked race rig this year for XC. I’ve also been practicing becoming super smooth with the rigid fork, and I’ve watched myself get smoother and faster. All in all, I am so stoked for this years’ racing season, even with the inclement weather. Hope to see you all on Sunday, thanks for your continued support and encouragement; I couldn’t do it without you all. I’ll keep you posted!
